Using the Meeting Space

The reference topic intends to provide you information about the common and repetitive tasks you may need to perform when you use the communication client. This page acts as a ready reference to understand functions of the buttons, icons, and symbols used throughout the communication client.

Moving in the Meeting Space

You can open several Application windows in a meeting space, the Communication Client provides several ways to reorient your view and to move around in the meeting space. To move in the meeting space and make the arrows available, position the mouse pointer at the boundaries of the meeting space screen. Some of the tools you can use include:

Click to move forward in the meeting space.
Click to move back in the meeting space.
Click to turn left.
Click to turn right.
Select a spot on the ground you want to move towards, and then press and hold the mouse button to reach the selected spot.
Move freely: Press and hold the left and right mouse button to move forward and move the mouse to change direction.
Position in front of an application: Click the application window or its content to position yourself in front of the application window.

Make the other participants follow you in the meeting space Back to Top

You can make the other participant follow you in the meeting space using the "Lead the attendees" option. As long as it's checked, the other participants will be redirect on the application you are watching, with the same view than yours (2D or 3D).
The persons who belong to the group "Attendees" (see "Rights management" section) won't be able to move through the workspace until you uncheck the option.

During a meeting you may need to open more than one application windows to share and discuss various things. You can move and adjust the size of the application windows to make it easier to view for all the participants. The various options to move the application window include:

Click and drag to move the application window.
Click and then drag left or right to turn the presentation in that direction.
Click and drag towards the center of the screen to reduce the presentation size, or away from the center to increase the presentation size.
Click and drag left or right to turn the screen in that direction.
Click and drag towards the center of the screen to tilt the presentation forward, or drag away from the center to tilt the presentation backwards.

3D and 2D Views Back to Top

When you select the compatibility mode in the Communication Client settings, a meeting starts in the 2D mode, by default. You can switch between the 3D and 2D meeting modes any time during the course of the meeting.

Click to switch to the 2D meeting mode.
Click to return to the 3D meeting mode.

Text message Communication Back to Top

Using the text message communication you can interact with the meting participants who do not use audio or video communication feature. The text messaging application is similar to the other popular text messaging services. You can use the text messenger to send text messages and emoticons during a conversation. The text messaging tools you can use include:

Audio and Video Communication Back to Top

With Audio/Video tab on the top menu, you can choose to send audio and video.

Click to start sending audio and video.
Click to stop audio and video.
Click Conference Settings to configure you audio and video preferences. You cannot change these preference when the conference is in progress.
The same actions can be executed since the Action panel.

In the left pane, under the "Users" list you can view the video screens of the participants who enable their PC cameras. Several views are available.

Floating Video: Click to detach the Video window from the pane and move to a different location on the screen.
